Margie J. Charlton, 82, Watertown
Margie J. Charlton, 82, 1620 Huntington St., died March 27, at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1925, in Oriskanny Falls, a daughter of Harper and Florence Beach Mandigo, she attended schools in Oriskanny Falls and moved to Watertown in the early 1960s.
She married Hersal Charlton on May 17, 1947, in Ogdensburg with Rev. Gerald Boyce officiating. He died in 1987.
Mrs. Charlton was employed as a nurse’s aid at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Massena, Jefferson County Nursing Home and Mercy of Northern New York.
As a young woman, Mrs. Charlton was a member of the Canadian Armed Services.
Surviving are six sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas and Priscilla, Farmington, Lawrence, Massena, William and Sue, Wooster, Ohio, triplets, Terrence, Timothy and Thomas, all of Watertown; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers and a sister all died before her.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating. Burial will be in Black River Cemetery.
