State Lottery spokesman John Charleson told 7 News that Gail Gray, a mother of four, will receive $150,000 per year for the next 20 years.

He said Gray bought a $10 New York Millions scratch-off ticket Tuesday morning, hit the jackpot and went to the Syracuse lottery office to claim her prize.

Charleson said Gray works for a cleaning services company and enjoys playing bingo at her local fire hall every Thursday.

He said the ticket was purchased at Mall Liquor Store on Route 12 in Alexandria Bay.

The store is actually called Bay Spirits.

Owner Tom Feinberg said Gray learned she won the jackpot at the store and screamed with joy with one of the store’s employees.

According to Charleson, Gray plans to use her winnings to pay off bills.

This is the second time in a week that a north country resident has won a $3 million lottery jackpot.

A 37 year old grocery store supervisor from Massena purchased a $10 Millionaire’s Club scratch-off ticket last Tuesday.

Peter LaPoint claimed his $3 million prize last Thursday.

Charleson said LaPoint is married and has two children.

An avid bowler, LaPoint said winning the lottery was like bowling a 300 game.

He bought the ticket a Kinney Drugs in Massena.

LaPoint will also receive $150,000 per year over the next 20 years.

Charleson said state lottery officials will visit the north country in the next couple of weeks to present novelty checks to LaPoint and Gray.
