From the Associated Press:

Republicans in the state Legislature want to suspend the state’s gasoline sales tax for this summer.

Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno and his fellow Republicans in the Legislature are holding a news conference at 10:30 a.m. today in Albany to call for a suspension of New York’s gas taxes from Memorial Day to LaborDay.

The state’s taxes on gasoline add more than 30 cents to each gallon of gas sold at the pumps.

I totally think that that would be a good start. It would at least give us some relief for the summer… I do think that more should be done to help everyone afford the gas to drive to work. Gas and food have gone up, but our wages have not!! Someone needs to help!

You can cut taxes all you want. Gas prices will still go up especially during the vacation and travel seasons.
