Mabel L. Parks, 70, Chaumont
Mabel L. Parks, 70, of 80 Spring Street, Adams, formerly of Bayview Manner, Chaumont, died May 4th, at her home.
She was born December 28, 1937, in Watertown, the daughter of Melford and Amy Calhoun Goodfriend and graduated from Three Mile Bay Schools.
A marriage to Richard Lambert ended in divorce, a later marriage to William Parks also ended in divorce.
Mrs. Parks was a full time mother and home maker caring for two boys that had muscular dystrophy and a daughter.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and enjoyed doing word puzzles.
Surviving is one daughter, Amy Hayman, Chaumont; one granddaughter, Ashley Parks and her fiancé Craig Spry, Adams Center; four sisters Myrtle Rendell and Doris Briggs, both of Adams, Betty Aubertine, Brewerton and Helena Hacker, Florida; one brother Glenn Goodfriend, Sackets Harbor; several nieces and nephews. Two sons, Dale Lambert died in February of 1985 and William (Mike) Parks died in July of 1991. Two brothers, Kenneth and Francis Goodfriend and a sister-in-law Aline (LaBrosse) Goodfriend and two sisters June Bourcy and Anna Aubertine died before her.
There will be no calling hours, a graveside service will be Thursday at 4 at New Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont. Arrangements are with the Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont.
