Ronald L. Wagner, 76, Pitcairn
Ronald L. Wagner, 76, of Pitcairn, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Ronald was born on September 13, 1931 in Ogdensburg, NY to the late George and Allison (Blair) Wagner. After his parents death he was raised by his grandparents Delbert and Ristoria Crowder. He attended Ogdensburg and Gouverneur Schools. He served in the United States Army from 1948-1952.
Ronald married Ada F. Hendrick on August 28, 1954 at the Gouverneur Methodist Parsonage. When he was younger he worked on various farms before entering the Army. He then later worked for two years at the Harrisville Paper Mill. Mr. Wagner worked for 34 years as a papermaker at the James River Paper Mill in Natural Dam until his retirement. He was a former member of the Panther Mountain Hunting Club in Harrisville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and loved walking their Yorkshire Terrier dog, “Babi”.
Surviving besides his wife of Harrisville is a niece and her husband Vicky and Thomas Van Ornum of Gouverneur and a great niece and her husband Tanya Van Ornum and Michael Stevens of Richland, NY. Tanya retained her maiden name.
There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be at a later date.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards.
Donations may be made in Ronald’s memory to the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department.
