Alexandria Bay Man Faces DWI Charges

A veteran of the Alexandria Bay Fire Department faces drunk driving charges after allegedly striking a girl with his pick-up truck.

Lloyd Strough, 81, of Anthony Street, Alexandria Bay was arrested Wednesday night.

Authorities say Strough was driving near his home when he struck 10-year-old Spencer Eggleston of High Street.

The girl was taken to River Hospital for treatment of a concussion and later released.

Police say that Strough left the scene of the accident, but returned about a half-hour later and tested a blood alcohol level of .13.

More charges are possible.
