Dr. William Wiley Retires After 53 Years of Medical Service in Deferiet Area

After 53 years in the medical profession, Dr. William Wiley is retiring.

While his retirement may sadden some, there is good news regarding the status of Dr. Wiley’s office in Deferiet.

Those with concerns that health care will be lacking in the community, Carthage Area Hospital lobbied the state to allow the facility to take over Dr. Wiley’s office.

Officials met with the state and everything is on track to keep the office open.

The offices will be closed for about a week and a half to allow for renovations and maintenance.
