group.jpgSecretary of the Army Pete Geren was in the North Country region to witness the signing of a covenant between the community and the Army.

Community members, public officials and soldiers were on hand at the Dealmaker Conference Center for the event.

The covenant is a pledge to improve the quality of life for soldiers and their families, which includes providing services to spouses, support for wounded soldiers and educational benefits.

Everyone who attended was encouraged to sign the covenant and a copy will be sent to those serving overseas in Iraq.
