Video: Lewis County Humane Society Filled To Capacity
Dogs, cats, rabbits…they are all in need of a home right now.
The Lewis County Humane Society says it is full to capacity and is even turning away animals because they simply don’t have room.
It’s the same problem the Jefferson County SPCA is dealing with, and like the SPCA, the Lewis County Humane Society wants to expand to meet the need.
Plans are to add 42 more cages to an empty addition already built onto the back of the building.
The humane society will also add a training center, new lobby, grooming station, and a play yard for the dogs.
The price tag for the expansion is $150,000, but the humane society still needs to raise more funds.
The humane society’s director hopes to raise some of the needed money through grants and of course donations.
