Video: Hydropower Plant Proposal In Ogdensburg, 100 New Jobs Possible

A Canadian company is talking with the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority about locating an underground generating plant in St. Lawrence County.

Riverbank Power Corporation of Toronto wants to divert water from the St. Lawrence River into the plant in Ogdensburg.

The project would generate up to 1,000 megawatts of power that would be fed into the power grid.

OBPA Director Wade Davis would not confirm or deny the scope of the project at this time.
