Video: One Dead, 7 Injured In Accident On Rt. 11 In Town of Watertown

rt11_1.jpg Update: The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says 11 year old Morgan Rabetoy has died at Samaritan Medical Center from her injuries in the crash.

From earlier Sunday:

A serious accident on Route 11 just south of the City of Watertown shut down the road for several hours Sunday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says three vehicles were involved and a total of eight people were injured including four children.

Two families from Richland in Oswego County were traveling to Watertown together northbound on Route 11 when a minivan headed south crossed the median striking both cars.

The driver of the minivan was 46 year old Janine Smith of Woodville.

The sheriff’s department says the passengers in the second northbound vehicle were the most seriously injured.

At least one person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles.

rt114.jpgTwo year old Roy Carr was flown by State Police helicopter to Upstate Medical Center for non-life threatening head injuries.

11 year old Morgan Rabetoy was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in critical condition.

The six others injured are considered to have non-life threatening injuries and were taken to SMC.

They are: Jack Carr Jr., 31, Margaret Carr, 24, Abigayle Trani, 2, Gina Trani, 38, Erik Carr, 2, and Janine Smith, 46.

Several ambulance services from surrounding towns were on the scene along with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and State Police.

Route 11 reopened at 5:30 p.m.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation which is still ongoing.
