Video: One Year Since Two Fort Drum Soldiers Went Missing In Iraq
Monday marks the one year anniversary of the ambush that killed five and left two Fort Drum soldiers missing, believed captured.
Sergeant Alex Jimenez and Private First Class Byron Fouty disappeared after the May 12th ambush last year south of Baghdad.
They were serving with the 10th Mountain Division’s Second Brigade Combat Team.
The families of the two soldiers honored the men this weekend in Jimenez’s hometown of Lawrence, Massachusetts.
A Fort Drum color guard participated in the ceremony.
Personal effects of Jimenez and Fouty were discovered in Iraq months after the ambush and led officials to believe the two soldiers were captured.

I cry over what happened,my son is a soldier serving in Iraq too.I really feel for the families of these two young soldiers and I pray for them.I feel that
we are all a big family and even if I don’t know them in person I still feel the pain just like if they were my kids>
