There was a few tense moments last night after a gas line was broken by construction crews on outer Arsenal Street near the Texas Roadhouse restaurant.
The break forced the closure of several businesses as a precaution.
Town of Watertown fire crews responded quickly to the break to make sure there was no additional threats to nearby stores and businesses.
Emergency crews ordered the evacuation of Kohl’s, Panera Plaza, T.G.I. Friday’s, Verizon and Lowe’s Home Improvement, however State Route 3 was not closed.
Since then, the break has been repaired and all stores should be open today.
