Carthage State Police Asking Public’s Help In Identifying Driver Involved in Accident

The State Police in Carthage are requesting the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation of a motor vehicle accident.

The motor vehicle accident occurred at 9:00 PM on State Rt 26 in the Town of Champion approximately a half mile north of the Mosher Rd.

Witnesses advised that a small, light colored car, possibly a white Hyundai Accent, was traveling south on State Route 26 when it attempted to pass a tractor trailer and a pickup truck.

The unknown vehicle forced an oncoming vehicle onto the shoulder which resulted in this vehicle losing control and then striking the tractor trailer.

The unknown vehicle then continued south towards Carthage.

No injuries were sustained.
