Ronald W. Dillon Sr., 59, Clayton
The funeral for Mr. Ronald W. Dillon Sr. will be Friday at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of the Thousand Isles with the Reverend James Lewis pastor officiating. Burial with military honors provided by Fort Drum will be in Clayton Cemetery.
Mr. Dillon died Wednesday afternoon at Samaritan Medical Center where he had been a patient since April 15th.
At the time of his death Mr. Dillon worked at Westelcom in Watertown for ten years. Previous to that he was the owner and operator of Clayton Bowling Center from 1991 to 1998.
He was born November 14th 1948 in Omaha NE. the son of James and Cora Yates Dillon. He graduated from Plattsmouth High School in NE. He graduated in 1980 from the University of Maryland, with an associate’s degree in business management.
He joined the United States Army in 1970 and was honorably discharged December 31st 1991 at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Having served overseas for eleven of the twenty-one years, he received various accommodations and medals.
He enjoyed computers and bowling.
He married the former Mary Day October 30th, 1974 in South Carolina.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons Ronald Jr. of Belleview NE, Kenneth of Clayton, two daughters and one son-in-law Linda Schroeder of Cape Vincent and Elaine and David Foster of Clayton. Nine grandchildren, three brothers Paul of Watertown South Dakota, Doug of Plattsmouth NE, and Jack of Kansas City Kansas. Two sisters Ruby Schmidt of Omaha NE and Zella Block of Plattsmouth NE. Nieces and nephews. One brother Roy predeceased him.
