Watertown Police Target Aggressive Drivers

Bad drivers beware - police officers in Watertown are stepping up patrols focused on people who are aggressive behind the wheel.
The police department recently received a $9,000 state grant for the program.
Officers are on the lookout for speeders and drivers who fail to follow traffic signals.
If you’re caught driving aggressively, there can be a variety of fines and penalties.
“If you’re speeding and you get caught in one of the details, you’re looking at getting a ticket and then you’re looking at obviously court appearances, do you need to retain a lawyer or not, fines, license problems because there’s a point system on your license,” said Watertown Police Sergeant Joseph Reff.
The goal of the campaign is to curb the number of accidents in the city.
Authorities say many crashes are caused by aggressive driving.
