One Dead After ATV Accident In Lewis County

A Glenfield man is dead after an ATV accident in the Town of New Bremen early Sunday morning.

State Police say the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. 19 year old Jerome Branagan was pronounced dead at Lewis County General Hospital

Branagan was operating an ATV on Adams Hill Road when he exited the east shoulder with his passenger.

State Police say he was driving at an excessive speed. Both he and his passenger were ejected from the ATV after hitting several trees.

The passenger was 20 year old Scott Turck of Croghan. Turck was treated for a shoulder injury and released from the hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
