Several Arrested In Connection With Fatal Accident

car41.gifState Police in Alexandria Bay and Carthage have arrested several people in connection with an underage drinking party that ended with the deaths of two young men.

Officials said the party was held at the Lisa Smith-Jeffries residence at 42219 Arcadia Park Road in Fishers Landing on May 17.

The party lasted until early morning hours of May 18.

The investigation revealed that 17 year old Jordan Houghton (pictured in the center) of Depauville and 20 year old Maxwell “Zach” Zeigler (pictured on the bottom) of Clayton attended this party prior to being involved in a one-car fatal motor vehicle accident on County Route 11 shortly before 2 a.m. on May 18.

jordan1.jpgPolice charged 20 year old Dorian B. Ladd of 38047 Windward Cliff Lane in Clayton with one count each of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and making a punishable false written statement.

Ladd was issued appearance tickets.

Police also charged 20 year old Ryan M. Dorr of 42219 Arcadia Park Road in Fishers Landing with one count of making a punishable false written statement and issued an appearance ticket.

Lisa J. Smith-Jeffries and her two daughters Katie L. Smith and Kellie A. Smith, all of 42219 Arcadia Park Road in Fishers Landing, were also charged in connection with the incident.

Smith-Jeffries, age 40, was charged with one count each of second-degree criminal nuisance and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.

maxwell1.jpgBoth 18 year old Katie Smith and 17 year old Kellie Smith were charged with one count each of making a punishable false written statement.

The mother and daughters were all issued appearance tickets .

All of the above charges are misdemeanors.
