Woman Injured In Crash Is Identified

Route 12 reopened late Wednesday morning after a serious car crash at a town of Clayton intersection.
The accident between a car and sports utility vehicle happened shortly after 9 a.m. at Gunns Corners, where Routes 12 and 180 meet.
Police said 55 year old Ingrid Overacker of Watertown ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with the SUV.
A helicopter arrived on the scene to transport the woman to the hospital.
Instead, she was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Police said her injuries are serious but non-life threatening.
The driver of the SUV, 25 year old Amanda Loomis, and her passenger, 23 year old Tiffanie Merrifield, both of Watertown, were treated at the scene.
Jefferson County Sheriff John Burns said the driver of the car will likely face charges, including failure to yield the right of way.
