Carthage Area Hospital Labor Talks Stalled

Contract negotiations for 180 employees at Carthage Area Hospital halted last week as a new contract has been under work for months with little or no progress.

The employees are licensed practical nurses, medical technicians, service, maintenance and clerical workers.

The contract covering nurses and techs expired March 31, 2008 while other employee contracts ended on June 1.

The National Labor Relations Board has issued numerous complaints against Carthage Area Hospital management for their conduct during negotiations.

Union members will hold a press conference today at 3 p.m. at the Town of Wilna Clerks Office.
