Watertown Postal Workers Going to the Dogs

It’s one of the dangers of delivering the mail.

More than 3,000 postal workers are bitten by dogs while working their routes every year.

dog.jpgIn Watertown, mail carriers are learning how to prevent dog bites, picking up methods to fendĀ  off dogs and working with owners.

Dog trainers say certain breeds are more likely to bite than others, like rottweilers.

However, it is important to understand the nature of dogs and read the signs that they may be agitated.

Watertown Postmaster Jeff Sands say that if a dog gets too aggressive, mail carriers will stop delivering to that residence.
