Lisa Parker pleaded guilty to manslaughter last week.

A year ago, she fled police officers a year ago and caused a crash that killed her three children.

At the most, Parker will serve three years in state prison.

Here are some of your messages:

“Too many criminals are using “mental conditions” as a cop out.”

J.L.

“She, as a parent, should want to accept that she was at fault, and quit looking for excuses as to why she fled.”

Darlene

“There is something seriously wrong in this county when a copper thief gets more prison time than mothers that kill their kids!”

Mark Getman, Sr.

“This person did not “kill her kids”. The lack of intent to do so should be clear to everyone. Obviously, fleeing the police in a vehicle is always a bad idea. Living with the consequences of her actions may be the worst sentence of all.”

Steve Long

Jason Rohrer’s front lawn is a designated natural wildlife habitat.

His overgrown lawn accidentally fell victim to the cutting blade of a mower operated by the State Department of Transportation.

The DOT says it was an accident. Rohrer isn’t so sure.

Here are some of your emails:

“This guy obviously craves attention, whether it’s for his weed-infested front lawn or his opposition to a public project. Apparently he feels he received a little too much attention from the DOT’s hardworking mowing crew. Can’t say I feel sorry for him.”

J.D. Gray

“I frankly applaud the state worker that did this. He should get a raise.”

Name Withheld

“Accident in cutting grass? Doubtful. Looks like 1 more way that elected officials try to control how we live.”

Daniel Anthony

“We sure could use more eco-friendly thinkers in our modern world.”

John Tocornal

“Too bad for him that the state had to mow the area for traffic safety. Letting your lawn grow to extremes is an eyesore, not a habitat.”

James Lucas
