Marion H. Bauter, 83, Lafargeville
Mrs. Marion H. Bauter age 83 of Penet Square Apartments died Monday Morning at River Hospital were she had been a patient since June 11th.
Mrs. Bauter was a homemaker and at a young age was a waitress in the summers at various restaurants in the Clayton, Alexandria Bay area.
She was born September 23rd 1924 in Theresa NY, the daughter of Charles and Lura Russell Nier.
She attended elementary schools in Theresa and graduated from Clayton Central School in 1942. She married Harlow “Bill” Bauter September 21st 1945 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in LaFargeville, with the Reverend Carl Worden rector officiating.
Mr. Bauter died April 22nd 1990.
She was a member of the LaFargeville American Legion Klock Smith Post 1788 ladies auxiliary, a former member of the Rebecca’s and the LaFargeville Fire Department ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and going camping.
She also enjoyed word puzzles and watching soap operas.
Surviving are one daughter and her husband Cheryl and Steven Bingeman of LaFargeville, four grandchildren Patrick Labiendo and Amy Appleton both of LaFargeville, Sonya Segear and Angie Dillingham both of South Carolina. Fifteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Six brothers and three sisters predeceased her. They are George, Carl, Clifford, Claude, Glen and Howard all “Nier”. And Irena Freeman, Beatrice Anable and Beulah Meicht.
The funeral will be 10:00 am Friday at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton; burial will be in Grove Cemetery in LaFargeville. Calling hours will be 6:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday evening at the Funeral Home. Donations can be made in her name to the LaFargeville Volunteer Fire Department or River Hospital in Alexandria Bay.
