Job Creation Expected At Area Businesses Thanks To Loans

Thanks to a $250,000 loan from the Jefferson County Industrial Development Agency, a Carthage business expects to expand and create new jobs.
Metro Paper Industries of NY plans to use the money to buy new equipment and move existing equipment from Canada to the West End Avenue facility.
The expansion is expected to create 30 new jobs within three years.
The company currently employs 53 people.
The JCIDA also approved a $30,000 loan to Imprints of NNY.
The money will help owner Christian Lawler set up a screen printing and promotional products business in Carthage.
The company expects to employ eight people within the next three years.
A $40,000 loan was awarded to North Country Digital Solutions to build a 6,000 square foot office and showroom in Alexandria Bay.
Owner Daniel McAloon is an authorized Xerox agent for Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence and Franklin counties.
The company employs two people and anticipates adding four more jobs within the next three years.
