It’s The Dog Days Of Summer
That’s what the Romans called it…although MY dog isn’t too happy with it. BTW, the ancients called it the Dog Days because the hottest weather usually occured the same time as Sirius, the dog star, rose and set with the sun. That period is July through September. Use that tidbit in casual conversation whenever you like.
You know the drill by now…hazy, warm and humid means unstable air with the chance for pop-up showers and thunderstorms through Sunday. Dewpoints will be in the mid to upper 60s and that puts us in the oppressive range for humidity. It also causes the air to become stagnant and allows particulate matter to build up. If you have any respiratory problems, it’s a good idea to kick back and relax in the shade with a cold beverage or two. That sounds like a good idea for EVERYONE! See you on the back porch.
Join me live tonight at 6pm from the JeffCo Fair and then it’s back to the studio for 10 and 10:30pm on Fox and 11pm for 7News Tonight.
