Max A. Rexford Sr., 59, Edwards

Max A Rexford Sr., 59 of Edwards, died July 20, 2008 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital of a possible cerebral hemorrhage.

Max was born on January 17, 1949 in Potsdam, NY to the late Phillip Rexford and Ruby (Steen) Rexford who survives him of Canton.

He graduated from Canton Central School in 1969. A marriage to Dora Daniels and Mary Dashnaw both ended in divorce.

Max worked as a truck driver for Trimms Trucking in Norfolk for four years. He previously was a truck driver for Massena Metals for eight years, Williamson Trucking in Watertown for ten years and the Canton Highway Department for thirteen and ½ years.

He lived in Canton most of his life moving to Edwards in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing with computers.

Surviving besides his mother of Canton are three sons and two daughters-in-law Max A. and Ellie Rexford Jr. of Canton, James P. Rexford of Coudersport, PA and Shane and Laurie Murdock of Florida; a daughter Marie Rexford of Coudersport, PA; a brother and sister-in-law Lee and Vicky Rexford of Canton; a sister and brother-in-law Susan and Doug Johnson of Cornwall, Ontario and three grandchildren.

Calling hours will be from 7-9pm on Wednesday, July 23rd at French Funeral Home, Edwards. A graveside memorial service will be at Pierrepont Hills Cemetery in Pierrepont at a later date.

Donations may be made in Max’s memory to the Edwards Senior Housing or Kinney Nursing Home.
