Feedback: LaFargeville Woman Says Daughter Died From Gardasil Treatments

Jessica Ericzone, 17, from LaFargeville, collapsed and died in her bathroom last February and no one can exactly pinpoint the cause of her death.

However, Jessica’s mother says her daughter died as a result of being a “guinea pig” for the vaccine Gardasil.

Gardasil is designed to protect girls between the ages of 9 to 26 from the human papillomavirus.

According to an article in this morning’s New York Post, Jessica began a series of injections of the controversial vaccine last summer.

Her last shot was in February.

Jessica died two days later.

Jefferson County Medical Examiner Samuel Livingstone told the Post that he’s stumped by the death.

Livingstone speculates that Jessica suffered an irregular heartbeat, which is extremely rare in young people.

Jessica’s mother says she doesn’t want other mothers to go through what she’s been through and is urging parents to research the vaccine before letting their daughters receive the shots.

The Post article also states that Lisa Ericzon is the first parent of a girl who may have died from Gardasil shots to speak publicly.

Seventeen other deaths following the vaccine have been reported since Merck & Co. introduced Gardasil in 2006.

The government says it has found no pattern or connection in eight deaths related to Gardasil and are still reviewing others.

The drug company is not quoted in the article.
