Violet V. Robbins, 95, Watertown

Violet V. Robbins, 95, died Tuesday, July 22, at the Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre in Carthage, where she has resided since Aug. 20, 2007.

The funeral service will be noon Friday, July 25, at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Benjamin, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Born Sept. 11, 1912, daughter of Stephen E. and Bessie A. DeLine Hibbard, she attended Watertown schools.

She married Leo F. Queior of Watertown on May 21, 1930, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Sullivan officiating. The couple resided in Watertown. Mr. Queior worked for New York Air Brake and Gibson’s Laundry. He died in March 1956.

Mrs. Queior worked as a clerk at Mason’s Clothing Store and also Empsall’s Department Store.

She married Clarence Robbins of Wellesley Island on June 24, 1961, at the home of Carlton Hibbard with the Rev. Fredrick Helwig officiating. Mr. Robbins worked many years for the New York Central Railroad and Knickerbocker Elementary School as a custodian. He died June 16, 1986.

Among her survivors are a daughter-in-law, Emily Queior, Three Mile Bay; a sister and her husband, Betty and Andrew Yarchuck, Watertown; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Donald, Dale, and Carlton Hibbard, and a sister, Fern Foster, all died before her.
