Book Sale in Martinsburg on August 9

On August 9, 2008, from 10 – 3 the “Lewis County Historical Society” will host a “Book Sale” in Martinsburg at the renowned “General Walter Martin Mansion.” An additional treat will be limited tours of the building, taking one back to the early 1800’s. Consider joining Jerry Perrin and Helen McHale (Co-Chairpersons) of the restoration committee for a short return to the “Good Old Days.” The “Lewis County Historical Society” strives to “PROTECT,” “PRESERVE,” and “RESTORE” for the whole of and future generations of our wonderful “Lewis County.”

Donations of objects, artifacts, textiles, photographs and archival materials depicting all aspects of Lewis County history and the people of our northern New York community are being sought and are accepted into the collection of Lewis County Historical Society throughout the year. Consider preserving your heritage with a donation of objects you may have in your possession that will preserve and enhance for future generation the Society’s collection. The Society’s collection includes artifacts and objects from all the towns and villages of Lewis County.
