Two Men Indicted On Sex Charges

scales-justice2.jpgA 43 year old Hermon man faces numerous sex charges after being indicted Thursday by a St. Lawrence County grand jury.

James Jenks of 116 Church Street was named in a seven count indictment for allegedly having sexual contact with two teenage girls.

Jenks was indicted for third-degree criminal sexual act, four counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Jenks is alleged to have had oral and anal sexual contact with a 17 year old female and other sexual contact with a 16 year old girl in the town of Hermon during the first week in May.

Also indicted on sex charges Thursday was 19 year old John Shippee of 4332 State Route 11 in Dekalb Junction.

Shippee faces charges of first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree assault, second-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree menacing.

The indictment charges Shippee with entering the apartment of a former girlfriend on June 17 in violation of an order of protection.

Shippee is alleged to have started “kicking her, tearing her underwear off and dragging her across the floor,” before sexually assaulting her.
