Kayakers Return to the Black River

It’s become something of a yearly tradition in Watertown.
This weekend, kayakers have returned to the North Country to compete in the Junior CAN AM Freestyle Championships.
The summer event features a big change for the athletes. They’ll be paddling on a different part of the Black River.
The kayak tournaments are usually held at a spot on the river called the Route 3 wave.
However, rocks in the river have made holding the competition there impossible.
This years tournament is being conducted at an area known as the Hole Brothers wave.
