Want to take some steps to a healthier life?
Now there is another spot in Jefferson County where you can do that and much more.
Just beyond noisy Route 11 and behind the Kripalu Yoga Center in Adams Center, you’ll find a place of solitude and quiet.
It’s known as the Peace & Wellness Walking Trail.
“You’re getting fit by walking. You can run it. You can jog it. You can stroll,” said Nancy Pfeil of the Yoga Center.
The recently opened trail is free and open to the public during daylight hours.
A $2,000 ‘Steps To A Healthier NY’ grant helped fund part of the project.
The entire path is about a half-mile long.
If you want a shorter walk try the one-third mile path.
“We’re giving them a little secret garden, a little enchanted garden, a little getaway for their busy, hectic life,” said Steven Williams of the Yoga Center.
Along the trail you can meditate, sit on a bench or take in the art sculptures.
