For Your Health: Woman’s Mission To Raise $ For Leukemia Research
Print This Page
A north country woman is making it her mission to raise money for leukemia research.
Vickie Kipp says her mission is personal.
She lost her mother to leukemia in 2002.
Now Kipp has been part of an effort that’s raised more than $100,000 for the leukemia and lymphoma society by organizing an annual walk to raise money.
Kipp says $20,000 of the money that has been raised has gone to families here in the north country.
“Every dollar we raise is a dollar more than we started with so the money that we raise here brings us that much closer to finding a cure,” said Kipp.
Vickie’s 5th Annual Light the Night Walk will be Saturday, September 20 at 5:30 p.m.
It starts at the Gouverneur Recreation Center.
