Madeline J. Furgison, 80, Copenhagen

Madeline J. Furgison, 80, of 32908 NYS Route 12, Copenhagen died Wednesday afternoon, September 03, 2008 at home under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Mrs. Furgison was born on January 05, 1928 to Roy and Maude Frazier Pickett in Copenhagen. She graduated from RedWood School and the Watertown School of Commerce.

She Married Wesley A. Furgison on February 03, 1951 at the Holy Family Church in Watertown.

Madeline worked on the family farm. Mr. Furgison died on July 14, 1988.

She was a Scout Leader for 25 years.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Copenhagen where she was active in the Altar & Rosary Society and the “Legion of Mary”.

She is survived by four children: two sons, Donald and his wife Martha Furgison, Watertown; Richard and his wife Cecelia Furgison, Copenhagen; two daughters; Nancy Sullivan, Liverpool; Joline Furgison, Copenhagen. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 05, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home Inc., Washington St., Copenhagen.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 06, 2008 at the The St. Mary’s Church in Copenhagen at 10:30am with The Reverend George F. Maroun, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will take place immediately following the mass in the Calvary Cemetery, Watertown.

A gathering will follow the burial at the Donald and Martha Furgison home, 17634 Archer Road, Watertown.
