Weekend Weather: Not Ugly After All
The leftovers of Gustav and Tropical Storm Hanna will be no-shows for the most part this weekend in Northern New York. Saturday will feature more clouds than sun and a few spotty showers as a weak front moves through the region. Sunday looks nice with quite a bit of sun, less humid and much cooler.
There is a true touch of fall coming next week as Tuesday and Wednesday we may not get above the mid 60’s for highs.
Tropical update: Hurricane Ike is a strong category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale as of this writing on Friday afternoon. Sustained winds are around 120 mph. Projections are Ike will make landfall in southern Florida sometime Monday or Tuesday. That is all subject to change. Farther out in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Josephine Is starting to churn and may move toward Bermuda by later next week.
