Will Michael Road Bridge Re-Open?

The Michael Road Bridge in the Town of Adams has been closed for close to three months due to damage caused when a tractor trailer hit the underpass.
Even since it was closed, residents have been detouring several miles out of their way just to make trips for food or drop their kids off at school.
Town of Adams councilman George Moulton says that it is an extra fifteen to twenty minutes tacked on for every trip from point A to point B and it is a major inconvenience for people and businesses.
Daily commuting aside, Moulton also said that in emergency situations, every second counts and having the bridge out is making that a dangerous issue.
However, the State Department of Transportation (DOT) will present a few options for the future of Michael Road bridge, one of them sure to cause argument.
Extended or permanent closure of the road is just not an option, according to Moulton.
A decision is not expected to be made tonight, but Moulton is asking the community to come out and voice their opinion on the situation and make sure that the DOT makes the right choice instead of the easy choice.
